2017 Read Across America Day
March 2, 2017
A child's ability to read has a direct effect on their future success. Reading with children helps increase their vocabulary and improves their reading fluency and comprehension.
On Dr. Seuss' birthday, Thursday, March 2, volunteers across the country joined students in classrooms to read his beloved book, What Pet Should I Get?. This included over 120 volunteers and 1,600 students throughout Hartford, East Hartford and New Britain.
