Read Across America Day

United Way Read Across America Day | March 7, 2024

Join United Way and our partners for Read Across America Day. Volunteers will read aloud to a classroom of students.

Read Across America Day is one way that United Way, along with our partners, highlights the importance of building early literacy and language skills for every child, so that all children read proficiently by the start of fourth grade.

This year we will be reading “Opal Lee and What It Means to Be Free” by Alice Faye Duncan.

WE ARE AT CAPACITY FOR VOLUNTEERS IN EAST HARTFORD and HARTFORD.
To be placed on a waiting list, please email Phil Blonski at pblonski@unitedwayinc.org or call at 860.493.1132. Additional slots may become available in the coming weeks.
