United We Read Challenge

Will you accept the United WE READ Challenge?

March is National Reading Month! United Way and our partners through the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading are asking children and families in central and northeastern Connecticut to pledge to read for at least 20 minutes every day throughout the month.

Join us for the largest reading challenge in central and northeastern Connecticut! We are mobilizing our region to support our goal of building a community of readers to help ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed in school.

How to Participate

1. Register online by submitting reading pledges on behalf of individual students, groups or classrooms.
2. Have your students pledge to read for 20 minutes every day in March. (Paper pledges do not need to be submitted).
3. Stay engaged throughout the month by using optional resources (calendar, reading tips, etc.) or following #UWRChallenge on social media.
4. Share your ideas, success stories, and how you’re participating by using #UWRChallenge on social media or emailing readers@unitedwayinc.org.
