United Way 860Works is a strategic, collaborative approach to closing the gaps between income and the basic cost of living to help end poverty in our community.
United Way and its strategic partners explore disparities in wages and career opportunities; and, invest in initiatives that provide employment services, coaching, and connections to income supports that help people achieve financial freedom.
This includes:
Supporting local industries needing to obtain and retain talent while connecting job seekers with rewarding in-demand careers that offer sustainable wages.
Offering career coaching, financial education, and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) so people achieve stability.
Leveraging a trustworthy peer network to provide opportunity youth with resources and skill development to reduce unemployment.
