UNITED WAY READERS

At United Way, our vision is a community where every child has the opportunity to succeed in school. Together, we can help children succeed academically. Together, we can make life better for those who need support the most right now and ensure equitable outcomes for all. That is what it means to LIVE UNITED.

One example is United Way Readers, a program that pairs a volunteer reader with a student for an academic year (with help from United Way, teachers, the school and the school district) to support children struggling to read on grade-level.

Our United Way brings people and resources together to find long-term solutions to challenging problems, such as making sure children get the best education possible. Reading on grade-level is a key indicator for graduating high school on time prepared for college or career, increasing a child’s opportunity for future success.
