United Way Day of Service

9/11 National Day(s) of Service & Remembrance

Sep 6, 2022 to Sep 16, 2022

Recognizing that September is National Preparedness Month and has the 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance, United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut invites volunteers to participate in an educational and volunteer activity that support family disaster and emergency planning and honor the sacrifice of those who lost their lives or family members on September 11, 2001. Project Dates available between Tuesday September 6th – Friday September 16th, 2022.

To prepare families for emergencies, volunteers will equip them with the knowledge to prepare and practice for emergencies by assembling Family Emergency Preparedness Kits with grant-funded supplies (e.g., non-perishable snacks, flashlight, whistle, first-aid kit, wipes) and guidance for how to create and practice a disaster preparedness plan.

ALL CDC Guidelines will be followed if applicable.
