United Way Foundation

Established in 2026, the United Way Foundation of Central and Northeastern Connecticut provides a permanent source of funding, separate from our annual campaign initiatives, to support the programs and activities of United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut.

The United Way Foundation enables donors to invest in the long-term future of United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut, which ensures our organization has the funding required to create opportunity for people in the 860 region to leave poverty behind for generations to come.

The United Way Endowment

The United Way Foundation is a separate 501(c)3 organization that provides predictable permanent funding to the United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut through the organizations endowment.

This permanent funding benefits United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut by enabling our organization to:

• Withstand annual economic fluctuations that can impact funding cycles
• Grow our ability to invest in strategic partnerships and creative innovation outside of the standard grants process
• Offer the flexibility needed to fund new and emerging solutions for the challenges of the future
