Coming Soon: United Way Donor Advised Fund
Our United Way is pleased to announce the establishment of a donor advised fund. Much like a charitable savings account, United Way’s Donor Advised Fund makes giving to the causes you care about simpler than ever before. It’s easy-to-establish, flexible and a tax effective way to support United Way and other charities. If you’re interested in starting a donor advised fund or would like more information, please contact Lisa Cretella, Director of Leadership Giving and Affinity Groups, United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut at lcretella@unitedwayinc.org.
Thank You:Hand-Raisers, Game-Changers
Maura Cook, Director of Community Engagement and Marketing, United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut, recently spoke with WNPR’s Lucy Nalpathanchil about the state of volunteering in the U.S. and how United Way is mobilizing volunteers and providing opportunities for people to give resources and time to the causes they care about most.

Volunteer Spotlight: The Hartford
The Hartford partners with United Way annually to commemorate September 11th, the National Day of Service and Remembrance. This year, 400 employees made 400 Playcation Kits. The kits are filled with supplies for children to build their critical thinking through creative play on days when school is not in session. Completed kits were given to students in United Way-supported early childhood programs. Thank you, employees of The Hartford, foruniting to do something big for local children.
