United WE READ

United WE READ is a campaign dedicated to providing the tools and resources for young children to read at grade-level by the start of fourth grade brought to you by United Way and its partners. United WE READ has partnered with our school systems, municipalities and local and national initiatives to ensure our children are learning to read, and then reading to learn!

Care Package Assembly

Together, we are United to End Poverty by closing education gaps and providing opportunities for children to achieve developmental and academic milestones so they are best prepared to enter Kindergarten.

United to End Poverty Month

In recognition of End Poverty Month, volunteers will have several options to give back to the community. United Way will be offering off-site community projects with strategic community partners, and care package projects focused on serving those experiencing poverty

National Volunteer Month

April is National Volunteer Month and your group can join us in forging a new path to close gaps in child literacy and household necessities. By participating in United Way’s National Volunteer Month, you and your colleagues are helping reduce poverty and co-create a community where everyone has opportunities to succeed.

Housing and Homelessness Outreach and Distribution Fair

Volunteers will assemble and distribute care packages for people experiencing homelessness or who have just secured stable housing.

Read Across America Day

At Read Across America Day, volunteers will read aloud to a classroom of students. Join us as we celebrate diversity while helping local children foster a love of reading.

Day of Action

On or around June 21, the summer solstice, United Ways across the globe mobilize volunteers to give back to their communities. Using the extra daylight on the longest day of the year, United Way encourages philanthropists to make a difference where they live and work.
